WHAT IS IT ALL ABOUT?
Hmong Bobtail Dog is an herbaceous woody tea fragrance inspired by my favorite breed of the same name. The composition blends wild mountain green tea with Lao oud, drawing inspiration from the forested highlands that span northern Vietnam and Laos, where many Hmong communities have lived and traded for generations.
Wild green tea, makrut lime, and a touch of poppy evoke the cool mountain air. An earthy grasshopper accord recalls the sounds and atmosphere of highland fields, while herbs such as lemongrass and mugwort reference ingredients commonly found in Hmong cooking. Hemp and indigo pay tribute to the traditional textiles for which Hmong artisans are renowned, while coffinwood and Lao oud provide a woody, animalic foundation that reflects the loyal companionship of the breed itself.
The result is an herbaceous, woody fragrance. Friends who grew up in the region have told us it reminds them of the scent of their clothes after spending a day in the mountain markets, carrying traces of herbs, wood, smoke, and fabric that linger long after returning home.
